Blue Spring Manatee Festival

Blue Spring State Park is one of the most popular places in all Florida to see wintering manatees, which gather in the 72-degree waters between November and March.

The Blue Spring Manatee Festival is held at the end of January to celebrate the manatees' return to the state park's
clear spring run.

The two-day weekend festival includes conservation displays, more than 100 arts and crafts booths, a children's play area with face painting and kid's rides.

Admission is nominal with kids under 4 free. Avoid parking problems by taking a free Park-n-Ride from West Volusia Regional Shopping Center to the festival at Valentine Park.

The Festival is an Orange City fund raiser with the proceeds going to "Friends of Blue Spring State Park," local educational scholarships and area organizations.

Directions:  The festival is held at Valentine Park on West French Avenue, off US 17-92, in Orange City.

From I-4 take exit 54 and follow signs to Blue Spring State Park. Call 386-775-9224 for more information.
