Binoculars and Scopes
for Watching Wildlife

The most obvious reason to use binoculars or a scope for Florida wildlife viewing is to magnify your subject. But they can also help you find that critter in the first place.

It's rare that you find a wild animal standing out in the open. Usually, as much as 85 to 90 percent of it will be hidden by cover, and a good pair of optics let you pick out that flicker of movement you wouldn't see otherwise.

And, they also let you see much better in low light when wildlife is most often on the move. Binoculars and spotting scopes provide detail that's just not available to the unaided eye.

Because they are complex optical instruments, a particular binocular or scope can be very specialized, suited only for limited uses. Not all models are good for wildlife viewing. Purchase a model designed for your needs.

What to consider: Such as magnification, light gathering, field of view and more.

How to select quality optics: Seeing will help make you a believer.
