What To Do at Flamingo Marina
The Flamingo Marina, open year-round, has excellent ramps where several boats can
launch at one time. The marina can accommodate up to 50 boats but with
limited electric and water hook-ups.
The marina is the main gateway to saltwater fishing available on Florida
Bay and brackish/fresh water in the backcountry. Popular species
include snapper, sea trout, redfish, bass, bluegill, tarpon and snook.
Fishing licenses are not sold here or anywhere in the park. You need to come with
one. (They're readily available in Homestead/Florida City, including
WalMart.)
The marina can arrange full- or half-day fishing charters year-round that include
fishing licenses, tackle, coolers and ice.
It also has fishing skiffs for rent with 40-hp engines that can carry up to 4 anglers.
The shallow draft boats are idea for fishing in the backcountry. They can not be taken out into Florida Bay and they must be back by 5 p.m.
