Crystal River Manatee Festival The two-day Florida Manatee Festival in Crystal River, which takes place each January, is so popular shuttle buses move people to the event. With limited street and handicap parking available in downtown Crystal River, the easiest course is to park free at the Crystal River Mall at 1801 NW U.S. 19, about 1 mile north of the event. The shuttle bus fee for adults is $1. Children under 12 ride free. Festival activities take place in downtown Crystal River at the intersection of Citrus Avenue and U.S. 19, location of the shops and restaurants of Heritage Village and adjacent areas. Besides food, art work and exhibits, you can take a boat tour to see the famous Crystal River manatees. Rides are offered on a first-come basis. Adults need a ticket to ride but no charge for children 12 and under. The tickets, valid only for the date purchased, are sold at the boat dock area near northwest Third Street (Kings Bay Park).
