Everglades Birding Festival The Everglades Birding Festival can run for as much as six days, journeying through south Florida to spot some of the Everglades’ premier species. These include the snail kite, limpkin, painted bunting, purple gallinule, peregrine falcon, roseate spoonbill, smooth-billed ani, wood stork, reddish egret, lesser nighthawk, burrowing owl, crested caracara, pileated woodpecker, sora and brown-headed nuthatch. Activities include daily mini-workshops, detailed instruction on birding technique and field skills and trips with expert guides to top birding areas in Palm Beach and Broward counties as well as Everglades National Park.
