After depositing her eggs, a sea turtle uses her hind flippers to fill in the nesting hole. Then she will fill the body pit and attempt to conceal her nesting site.

To do this, a sea turtle uses her fore flippers to scatter sand in all directions in an attempt to disguise the nesting site. She may make a huge mess but the nesting hole is often easy to spot.
