Visit Pelican Island NWR for its annual wildlife festival. This site is run by the Pelican Island Preservation Society. Look under PIPS Events for dates and details. Pelican Island was the first NWR is the entire U.S.! But it's sad. FWS does not maintain the Pelican Island site and it's up to PIPS volunteers.

Nesting Ospreys: This large bird is one of the easiest to see.
