Bike Trail |

The small elevation change in Shark Valley provides an ideal bike trail along the 15-mile paved loop road that passes a 50-foot observation tower at the mid-way point. You’re welcome to bring your own bike, though few people do. Most opt to rent bikes ($7.95 per hour). A driver's license or other I.D. is required as a deposit. All rental bikes are single gear, coaster brake types with adjustable seats, with baskets and helmets available. Florida law requires those under 16 to wear a helmet while biking. With a backpack suited for carrying camera equipment, you should find cycling the tram road is a better option for wildlife photography. Your quiet approach by bike should provide many more photo subjects, close-up. While the West Road is straight, the return route is on the more zig-zag East Road that features four “borrow pits” (quarries) used to build this road section. To Shark Valley Observation Tower
